I am coming to the conclusion that creating e-Learning materials requires skills that most people may not necessarily possess. The most important is being able to write especially for a variety of situations. Moreover, to make the writing process appropriate to the flexible situations in the business environment much can be gained from creative writing.
There are also a range of practical skills in writing needed for the web page, writing for audio and video. Standards of even PowerPoint materials are constantly being raised.
The underlying principles of traditional media learnt in a broadcasting context - tricks of the trade can be applied to the new media in this section. Years of providing teaching materials to professional standard have proved to be remarkably useful in the new media context.
In this section are some ideas academics will find useful in the Work Based Learning sphere.
